School is usually a dirty and grimy place, filled with germs, bacteria, and disgusting and easily passed illnesses. It is a challenge to find a student who has not or does not get sick throughout the school year, but education is important so students must tough it out. Although it falls upon the faculty to try and make the school cleaner and safer, it is a difficult job for sure, and oftentimes the task suffers from a lack of funds or simply neglect, but there is a job that absolutely requires quick attention and is easily noticeable, and that is pest control.
There are bound to be bugs and creepy crawlies in a building as vast and busy as a school, but if properly taken care of, the students will rarely have to see these insects and can instead focus on schoolwork. Pests proliferate in unsanitary conditions, and despite the best efforts from the school, they will not be able to get rid of all pests, and uncleanliness in a school setting is like white on rice; simply put, there will be bugs. If left unchecked, education will suffer but health will also tank. Illness will run rampant throughout the school, and education will suffer even more. A simple cockroach found in the middle of class turns into a ten minute screaming period, and as teachers know, it is very difficult to regain control of a classroom after such an event. To avoid this, pest control services are required, and can greatly aid in maintaining the perceived cleanliness of the school building, or at the very least, minimizing distractions in the classroom.
The only job students have is to learn, and it is very difficult to do so in an environment that is not conducive to their needs. Every need does not need to be meant, but a clean school is the bare minimum. Minimizing the number of pests in a school can give the impression of a clean and healthy environment, allowing students to focus on their studies while also gaining the impression from the school that they care about their students. If pests ran unchecked, students may try and avoid those classrooms and may start to believe that the school does not care about them, so why should they care about school? Especially for grades K-12, school is a relationship that extends very much in both directions; for the school hours, that faculty has a duty to provide for those children, and ensuring a clean and safe environment that facilitates learning is at the top of the priority.
